Suuuuper late with this post….oops! This past week Andie has gotten faster and faster with her army crawling. If she sees something she wants, she is gone! haha This age is so fun and tiring all at once! She’s still getting up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth a lot so it really will only be a matter of time before she is crawling like a big girl. WOW!
Andie has also learned a new sound: she makes the sound of giving raspberries….a lot…and loudly. haha It is SO cute and hilarious. I had her with me at Michael’s not too long ago and she started doing it really loudly while we waited in line and everyone started looking around to see what it was HAHA!
She is also very in love with electronics right now. Our phones? She wants it. Laptops? Crawls faster for that than anything else. I think she just really likes the lights and pictures on the screens. Most of all, she LOVES watching videos of herself and seeing photos of herself. She’s definitely recognizing that its her in the photos and videos so I play them for her and she laughs and smiles like nobody’s business!
Over the weekend, Daniel’s mom and stepdad came into town to visit! It was a nice and relaxing weekend with lots of yummy food and plenty of Andie/Nonna & Papa time 🙂 They brought their dog Astro (who is actually the same age has Andie haha), and Andie loved him–she kept smiling at him and watching what he was doing. I’m pretty sure Andie is already a big animal lover – she hasn’t gotten scared of any barking or anything and seems to love all the animals she meets!
Last Tuesday we had Andie’s first head scan since having her helmet and we got terrific news! Andie has worn her helmet for a little over a month now and there’s already been some great changes. The main thing we are concerned with is the Oblique Diagonal Difference and at Andie’s scan before the helmet, she was at 9 mm. At the most recent scan, she was measuring at a 5.9!!! The goal is to get as close to 0 as possible (no one is a 0 because no one has a completely symmetrical head) and she’s already made such great progress with only a month of wearing her helmet. In the second photo you can see her head scans being compared: The red line is from the first scan and the blue line is from the most recent. As you can see, there’s been growth in the back left (which is what we wanted because she once had a flat spot there) as well as some growth in the front right. We want more growth in the front right of her head so it will match up with the front left which right now, looks like its bulging out a bit further than the other side. The helmet hasn’t allowed the back right or front left to have any growth which is another thing we want. If you are a parent who is debating whether to go through with getting your child a helmet, I’m here to tell you that it works. I can’t believe the change we’ve seen already and I’m so glad we were able to do this for our daughter!!
Otherwise, I’ve been having fun dressing Andie in Christmas themed outfits. haha The pajamas with Santa on the butt are probably my favorite of all time hence the many photos I have of her wearing them. Sorry, not sorry!
