26 Weeks

I can’t believe Andie will be SIX MONTHS old on Friday! It’s getting more and more fun as she’s getting older. We love watching her grow up and discover new things–her personality is getting bigger by the day!

This past Monday we had our friends over for dinner and the girls are finally old enough that they were able to interact with each other! It was ADORABLE. Andie kept reaching out to touch Chloe–so funny! We had them both standing and jumping facing each other and Andie and Chloe were each laughing and smiling at each other. Already BFFs! πŸ™‚ By the way, I made a recipe I found on Pinterest (isn’t that where we all get recipes now?) and it turned out really good! If you’re looking for a new dinner idea, try this recipe for Cheesy Spinach Dip Chicken Pasta. I lightened it up a little by using the light alternatives of most ingredients listed!

Since Andie turns 6 months old on Friday and Daniel works that day, we decided to go ahead and try solids this past Tuesday! We went with sweet potatoes first πŸ™‚ While I was pregnant, I did some research trying to find a good recipe book to use for making baby food and I came across the one pictured above! The Best Homemade Baby Food on the PlanetΒ has so many great recipes and divides them up by age which is super helpful; I definitely recommend it! We probably didn’t introduce solids at the right time seeing as she was kind of cranky but we tried! She got a little in her mouth and she smacked her lips while making a face and after a few more tries, she started crying haha Next time we try solids we’ll make sure she isn’t due for a nap…anyways, I am really liking the idea of making our own baby food and definitely intend to continue. For one, it’s cheaper and two, I know exactly what Andie is eating – no processed foods or extra chemicals that don’t belong in something that’s just supposed to be bananas or peas. Yay!

The weather has been absolutely insane lately–one day it was 73 degrees and the next it was 39! What?!?! Anyways, Andie experienced her first winter temperatures and we had her all bundled up while we went out to run a few errands. Bundled up babies are just the cutest don’t you think? πŸ™‚
